Demonstrations

Live demonstrations of systems that use or support aspect-oriented software development offer an excellent occasion for learning about emerging technologies including the opportunity for discussions with their developers. Demonstrations will be presented by the developers, who will focus on technical details and be able to answer technical questions.

The impact of aspect-oriented software development on recent research and development efforts is reflected in the number of high quality proposals for demonstrations submitted to AOSD 2002. From the submitted proposals the organizing committee selected eight demonstrations that cover a wide range of problem areas and underlying technologies:

  • application of aspect-oriented technology to tracing and problem determination (HyperProbe, TAST)
  • support for using aspects at early stages of software development (GME, xlinkit)
  • reverse engineering of aspects from existing code (FEAT)
  • new technologies for aspect weaving / compilation (CLAW, ConTraCT, Gilgul)

In determining the schedule we tried to avoid as many conflicts as possible. In order to further reduce the risk of conflicts each demo is scheduled twice.

Please take advantage of the opportunities for informal meetings provided in the conference area to foster discussion with authors of presented systems.

The demonstration rooms will also be available at certain times over lunch and at the end of the day for informal demonstrations. Each room will be equipped with two screens and two laptop projectors. A sign-up sheet will be placed near the auditorium entrance. We encourage attendees to check this sheet regularly for demonstrations they might be interested in.
