Getting to the Campus from the train station

From the train station (northern exit "Gare nord"), to reach the campus, you have several possibilities :

  • Bus: line #41express is direct from the train station (just in front of the train station, on the left side) to the campus (week days only). Departures: 7h35, 7h45, 7h55, 8h10 and 8h35. Get out at the "Tournebride" bus stop.
    Back to train station (from "Tournebride" bus stop): 16h09, 16h44, 17h14, 17h45, 18h15 and 18h44.
  • Subway+bus: take the subway at the Railway station "Gares" towards "J.F. Kennedy" and get out at "République". Just at the exit, in front of the "République" building, you will find the bus stop for the bus lines #6 (direction "Acigné Base de Loisirs"), #4 (direction "Beaulieu Atalante"). Get out at the "Tournebride" bus stop.
  • Walk+bus: walk along the J. Janvier avenue up to the Vilaine river. Turn left (Quai Zola): the bus stop (lines #6, #16 or #40express) is 20 m away, close to the Museum ("Pasteur/Musée" bus stop). Get out at "Tournebride" bus stop.

Getting to the Campus from the airport
To reach the campus from the airport:

  • Taxi: It is recommended to the a taxi from the airport, during the day time it costs around 20 € from the airport to the campus.
  • Bus: line #57 links St-Jacques to Rennes city center. Buses run from 6h50 to 19h45 about once an hour and every 10-15 minutes during the rush hours. Bus stops "Pommerais" or "Abbé Grimault" are 800 meters away from the airport in the St-Jacques village.

    Once arrived at "République" which is the terminus of the line 57, you have to change for bus lines #6 (direction "Acigné Base de Loisirs"), #4 or #40express (direction "Beaulieu Atalante") that leave just in front of the République building. The total travel time is around 40 min.
    Get out at "Tournebride" bus stop.

Getting to the Campus from the city center
Hotels in the center of Rennes are convenient since there are direct buses that link the centre to the the campus . The bus lines 4 and 6 departing from the Republic bus stop (bus 4 direction Beaulieu Atalante, bus 6 direction Cesson-Sévigné), arrive in front of the university campus (Tournebride bus stop).

The Tournebrige bus stop is just in front of the campus (main entrance to the University of Rennes 1). In order to get to the campus you need to go down the bus at this stop and cross the street.

From the entrance of the campus, you can reach the INRIA Bretagne Atlantique building in about 5 minutes.
