BoF Purpose

Want to discuss the next hot-topic? Want an opportunity to meet like-minded people? Or just want to share your ideas with interested people? Then consider organising/attending a Birds of a Feather session at AOSD 2011.

A Birds of a Feather (Bof) session provides an informal environment for attendees to get together and discuss topics of interest to the AOSD community. BoFs provide an ideal opportunity to continue a discussion that began in a workshop, allow a more detailed discussion of a paper or demo, for a group to get together to pursue a common interest or to discuss opposing opinions. Rooms and equipment can be provided to ensure a fruitful discussion. Furthermore, the BoF chairs will advertise sessions to increase awareness and maximise attendance of the BoF sessions.

Registration

No prior registration of BoF sessions is needed. However, if you would like to organise a BoF session and for better advertisement and allocation of rooms/equipments, please send an email to bof@aosd.net and include:

• The title of your BoF.

• A short description of your BoF session.

• Any equipment needed.

• Your contact details (name, affiliation and email address).

• Estimated audience (so an appropriate room can be reserved).

• Preferred date and time of your BoF.

BoFs that are requested prior to the start of AOSD 2011 will be published on the conference webpage. All BoFs will be announced during the conference sessions across all tracks. Furthermore, posters will be placed around the conference venue advertising BoF events with all the necessary information.

A sign-up sheet will be held at the registration desk where attendees can organise an impromptu BoF session during the conference and reserve rooms/equipment on a first-come first-served basis.
